Women Scientists Scheme
The "Women Scientists Scheme (WOS)" has been evolved by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) for providing opportunities to women scientists and technologists between the age group of 30-50 years who desire to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists. Through this endeavour of the Department, a concerted effort would be made to give women a strong foothold into the scientific profession, help them re-enter into the mainstream and provide a launch pad for further forays into the field of science and technology, both from the point of view of pure science and its application to societal development. Under this scheme, women scientists are being encouraged to pursue research in frontier areas of science and engineering, on problems of societal relevance and to take up S&T-based internship followed by self-employment.
Category of Scholarships:

Scholarship for Research in Basic/Applied Science (WOS-A)
Scholarship for Research in S&T - based Societal Programs (WOS-B)
Internship for the Self-Employment (WOS-C) .

The scheme is meant to encourage women candidates, preferably those having a break in career and not having regular employment. For details click here
Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme from TIFAC
The Department of Science and Technology had launched a scholarship scheme for women having science qualifications for training in the area of intellectual property rights, especially in patent searches, understanding of patent .

Eligibility : Score of 60% or more marks in Class X, 2006 examinations conducted by the CBSE, and Currently studying in CBSE affiliated schools where the tution fee was not more than Rs.1000/- per month during the year .Value : Rs.500/- per month Duration : Two years subject to renewal on year to year basis .

CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Professional Courses
Eligibility : Rank in the merit list of AIPMT / AIEEE 2006 conducted by the CBSE , and Pursuing professional course in medicine / engineering in any Central University / Institution controlled or aided by Central Government .Value : Rs.1000/- per month Duration : Four years subject to renewal on year to year basis .

CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Under-Graduate Studies
Eligibility : Score of 60% or more marks in Class XII, 2006 examinations conducted by the CBSE, and Pursuing under graduate course ( non-medical / non-engineering ) in any Central / State Government University or those recognized by UGC .Value : Rs.500/- per month Duration : Three years subject to renewal on year to year basis.
